The Dyldam Parramatta (Territory) Eels are set to take on Goald Coast Titans early next year in a pre-season match in Alice Springs.
The match is confirmed in the Red Centre on Saturday 13 February, and will be a fantastic opportunity for rugby league fans to see the Eels in action as they prepare for their 2016 NRL Premiership season campaign.
"This match will be a treat for rugby league fans in Alice Springs, as they get an exclusive preview of how the Eels are shaping up in 2016," Chief Minister and Eels fan Adam Giles said.
A special Aussie Rules Football carnival gets underway in Nhulunbuy and Yirrkala this weekend.
The carnival is aimed at re-engaging young adults and supporting the restoration of pride and strength in the East Arnhem communities affected by Cyclones Lam and Nathan earlier this year.
"The cyclones cuased extensive damage in Galiwin'ku, Ramingining, Millingimbi, Gapuwiyak and a number of East Arnhem homelands," Chief Minister Adam Giles said.
The Northern Territory's best hockey and cricket players will take on top class rivals in high standard competitions at Marrara Sporting Complex this weekend.
The SRA Territory Stingers men's team will be competing against the nation's top male hockey players in an Australian Hockey League (AHL) round to be held at Marrara Hockey Centre from tomorrow until next Thursday.
At the same time the Territory Pearls (AHL) women's team is battling it out with all other states/ territories in Sydney for national Champion honours.
